air sensor trick?

what are these diode or resistor type tuning ideas that are floating about. apparently you put it in the air sensor wiring and its apparently for 10bhp and 15flb torque.
anyone tried one yet or are they a gimmick?
they sell for 20 bucks so it cant be that good can it????

It just tricks the computer - don't waste your money. Definitely will not give you 10 horsepower. It'll likely make the vehicle run rich and decrease fuel economy.

thanks.
i fuigured they were a 'gimmick' but sometimes stuff like that can be a hidden secret!!!
i found them on Ebay, there are about 30 of them , all different and some of them as low as 2.99!!! looked just like a resistor in the plug in!!!
i guess it just puts the engine into 'limp' mode, putting the air ratio figures to BASE LINE like when a sensor goes faulty, and you can limp home!
not sure thats wise for the truck, and im sure it must put the check engine light on!
think ill stick to getting a hypertuner. theyre about 299 dollars more but what the hell!!!!
