Somewhere on this forum there is a chart of ford casting numbers, I think. Someone may have sent me a link to a chart, I don't know for sure but would really like to find it again. Anyone know where such an item is?
Well I would send you a email with a link to a page that I got off the web, it helps to decode them, but I will not post it publicly as and I dont remember where I got it from and I dont want to upset anyone for copying and reposting it. But I cant because you have your email settings blocked for recieving emails.
What are you looking for, a list of all head casting numbers and block casting numbers?
Heads are C8, C9, D0 (D0OV-E, D0OE-R), D2 (Trashy), and D3. The most common is the D3 and it is a head that can support you to about 500 hp with novice porting or about 600 with Reincarnation-Automotive porting.
Blocks that are prevalant seem to be D0 and D1 blocks. There are thin main bearing support web blocks, thick main bearing support web blocks, 4 bolt main bearing cap with thick webs....many blocks. I still have not figuired out the entire block vs features thing.
Maybe Paul Kane or Bret Powell will browse thru here, they may know more of the details.
