$180 is cheap, if it's for a 73-79' Short bed. NPD has them (or did anyway), and they were much more than $180.............

Beware of cheap prices. The metal may be thinner and the stamping not as crisp. If that's a concern.

if you can get a bedside for $180 grab it. thats really cheap.

There is really only one or two major offshore stamping plants and the quality is the same (not too bad, but not oem either, and its ALL thin). Goodmark is one and I cant remember the name of the other one. just because someone sells one for $300 doesn't make it better, it just makes it more expencive.

I don't have an NPD catalog handy, but I seem to remember their short bed sides being NOS, and much more than $250 each. They didn't list repop for these the last I checked (may be different now). The other factor was they wanted an additional $100 apiece for truck freight! If you can go through your junkyard and they absorb the shipping costs, that'd be the way to go for sure. I usually order body parts and bumpers through a local paint and autobody shop, because they are on a "route" from the suppliers. They get a break on shipping, and it is usually much cheaper in the long run, than buying something off of the net myself (for what I'll save on shipping).

Dennis carpenter makes repos using original tooling. Thats means its the same type and thickness steel as OEM. Made from the same dies as OEM.

In the end you don't come out much cheaper using the cheap stuff by the time you install it. it takes longer fit a ill fitting part than a good fitting part.
