Question And The Build Date Is?

I have had a terrible time finding out the build date of my motor so I decided to take a few pics of the stickers on my drivers and passengers side valve covers respectively.<O</O

Please take a look at the pictures at the link below and let me know where to find my build date.

Well obviously form photo five I know that your engine was built in the year 2461…on the 98th day of the 13 month…..ug…got me, I have no idea how to interpret those numbers…

Someone will come along and figure this out, in the mean time all you and I can do is sit and wait!

Those are the wrong numbers. If you look on the drivers side valve cover the engine build date will be on top of the FICM.

If you look further up from that sticker on the FICM (the silver looking thing).

The date is on one of the white stickers and would be in the format of 27 Mar 03 (dd Mon yy) under it would be where the engine was made. Indiana or Kentucky I think. But everytime I have looked at it I looked from above standing on something craning my neck around and using a flashlight.

Yeah, it's hard to see. I was convinced mine didn't have the sticker until I looked under the hood juuuuuuust right and finally saw it a couple of months ago. You have to sort of be facing the front left fender (perpendicular to the fender), then crouch down and slowly change your angles of view a bit while looking under the hood sort of close to the firewall. You'll see the sticker eventually on top of the valve cover. Good luck.

Ok I found another sticker in the location described above. The only thing that could possibly be the build date on the sticker is "040504" which is inconsistent from the (dd Mon yy) format you described. This is most likely my build date since my truck is an 04.

What is the good and the bad about a April 04 build? Or is it a May 04 build?

Are there any new flashes available for this build date (May 04, 2004) or anything particular to be concerned with?

My build date is May 17, 2004, and I have no complaints. Truck pulls my 14 foot enclosed trailer every day for work, about 100 miles a day. Runs great, idles great. Puts a big smile on my face everyday when I drive it.
