If the exhaust back pressor sensor is malfunctioning I would guess the Exhaust back pressure valve will also cease to operate correctly. I had a problem today with the temps around 25 and the truck would not accelerate worth a darn until it warmed up. My scanner shows that my sensor is bad.
Thanks for any input on this!!

Rather than the sensor it is probably the line from the right exhaust manifold to the sensor. The line becomes clogged with soot and either needs replaced or cleaned out.

Thanks for the reply. Is the sensor located near the turbo? Truck is a 00 7.3 PSD.

No It is located on the HPOP reservoir on the front of the engine. The tube comes off the right exhaust manifold and runs up behind the alternator bracket to the sensor.
