i have an 03 f250 extended cab. i have the bench seat up front and want to take the existing center seat and fold down console out to put in the floor console. i have searched on ebay and found some that fit my application. would ford be able to order the mounting brackets for it? also my other concern is the armrest issue. when i take the fold down parts out, would the armrest tie into the seats were the fold down part was? are the internal parts the same for a fold down and the armrests? also were could i get my hands on some tan armrests? hopefully someone will have some input on this. thank

I had the captains chairs and removed the armrest to install a center seat...the armrests were held in place by a torx (45?) screw and they had the armrest stops built into the seat which i cut off because they were in the way of my new seat covers. As for the center console my original center console was held in place by 4 screws that went into the floorboard. I still have the armrest(medium parchment leather) and center console same color. I would think mounting the console would be easily done but the armrest is another story might require some fab work on you existing seats
I added a console to my 03 and got the hardware from the dealer. The console fasteners are a stud and rivet arrangement. The holes are already in the floor pan with sealer tape over them.
what did you do about the armrest situation? did you not put any in there or do they just slide right in where the existing wholes are in the side of the seats? thanks for the info
I took the center seat out and didn't worry about an arm rest. For me it only gets in the way. Since it was part of the center seat, cosmetically it didn't affect the apperarance of the truck. If you look at the back of the center seat mounting brackets, there will be a hole in the carpet when you remove the seat. Three of the mounts go under the other seat brackets. Other than that it's a clean install. The mounting hardware from Ford is a bit pricey, but I think it makes for a better installation.
what color is your interior. i just removed my center console for the center seat. i got a deal on the whole row so i swapped both seats and the center. i have 2 captain chairs and the center console left. i was going to list it on ebay but i'll be in D.C. in a few weeks.
