Just thought i would let everyone know what happened with my so called 80/130 watt bulbs. I installed them 2 yrs ago and they worked ok. Didnt seem to perform any better but the blue color was cool. PIAA brand. Well they completely melted the pigtail that plugs into the 9007. The ground was totally fried. spliced on new pigtails with new silverstars. good to go. IMO, high watt bulbs are not worth it.

yep, i had a pair of 80/130 watt APC's do the same thing
With the higher wattage you need to use the high and low beam wiring to fire relays that get there power through bigger wires. No more problem, in fact some have said that using relays on the stock lights and aftermarket like the Silverstars helps, that the voltage at the lights through the stock wiring can be as low as 10.5 volts.
That said, I am running Silverstars through the stock wiring and like them a lot. I plan to run the wiring as described to check the improvement then, maybe, 55/100 watt lights.
BTDT, on a 2000 F250 SD. Replaced the horrible stock headlight buckets with XL style for sealed beams, bought some Bosch E-code headlamps ($60 ea from Daniel Stern Lighting), and an APC headlight harness ($50 from Summitracing), and two 80/100 watt H4 bulbs ($14 ea from Summitracing). Incredible lighting, no glare to oncoming drivers, and highbeams were like daytime.
I sold the truck, and got a new F250 XLT.....so I will be going through this mod again shortly. I hate the stock floodlight headlights.
