blown head gasket???
Just bought a 93 Ranger for daughter, I believe (hope) has "only" blown head gasket. Local part store is trying to talk me into purchasing new head bolts with the gasket set... Is this something I should consider?? Are these a "weak link" in the motor?? Any info/advice would be very welcome.

Imfatdad, beleive it or not, the bolts will stretch and also fatigue over time. You can use the old ones and probably get away with it, but considering the labor vs cost involved, I would tend to replace bolts too. Be sure to use correct torque pattern and torque specs.

Thanks very much for the information. Planned obsolensence (sp) rears its ugly head here I guess.... My experience is with older motors, where this is really not an issue, hence my questioning ...
