Is this a new truck that has never worked right or something that just suddenly happened after you have had it for a while and it was working before?
First thing I would check after what you have already done is check the cable adjustment at the throttle body. Maybe an adjustment slipped on the TV cable. Follow the procedure though and don't try to cheat it into working. The cable adjustment is critical and if off, can lead to big and expensive problems.
It is pretty easy as I recall, just check gap clearance etc.
ive had the truck over a year now and we replaced the trans because the old one started slipping but its been in there since march but hey thanks lee ill try that it seems to shift hard if im easy on it but when i get on it mildly it shifts fine but still no over drive i will deffintly try what you have sugessedted thanks
i took it back to the shop where they installed the trans and they said to change the filter and fluid and pray lol well after a filter change and fluid still no over drive they said the tv cable was working fine so anymore suggestions?
Take it to a REAL Transmission shop...the longer you drive it like that the worser it will become. basically, the TV cable should allow it to shift into overdrive by itself without any response from you at 45 mph, if it shifts hard and jerks while doing so in the other gears, there is still problems in the transmission itself besides the tv cable...take it to a real transmission shop (not one of those transmission fill an change places) You get what you paid for, so expect trans-shock (price for teardown won't be cheap, but at least you'll get a warrenty and a transmission that will last)
