high volume oil pump
ok guys what do u think about high volume oil pumps. going to have my motor out and was thinking of putting one on while i had it out. 77 351m stock oil pan. i know that some ppl say that it takes all the oil out of the pan but just wanted some other opinions

From what I have heard some of the cam makers will not warranty their cams if they are used with HV oil pumps. It only ads about 20-25% to the stress on the cam gears and drive so it should not be a problem but apparently some cam manufacturers think it is. I have heard of it taking out cam gears etc but I have not seen it myself. The stress would be greatest if you had a motor with tight or even good clearances and a HV pump resulting in high oil pressure all the time.
If you have tight or good clearances tho a HV pump is not needed, so why waste HP?
