exhaust

When I get the Bronc goin, I plan on revamping the entire exhaust system.

I wanna put headers on it, but I need to keep her street legal, emmisions and all...

So, shoties or full length?

Y-pipe with single cat or true duals with double high flow cats and h-pipe?

I know I want duals straight out the back, but everything else I don't know about.

This is gonna be on a 90 EB 302 auto, relatively stock with K&N, and Melling RV cam.

First off, NEVER EVER run exhaust out the REAR of a Bronco. The exhaust will be pulled into the passenger cabin if the rear glass is ever rolled down. Thats why the stock location is off to the side.

3" single and a high flow cat will perform every bit as well as duals and it isn't nearly as difficult to route as trying to find a location to run the other pipe in a dual setup. Not only that, but to keep your emissions, there aren't many if any manufacturers making a street/emissions legal true dual setup. Its all custom work. Shorties are just fine as long as they are equal length.

My vote, as many already know, is Bassani's complete setup. Its pricey, but considering its all stainless and you have chrome or ceramic coating options on the headers, its gonna work well for a long time without deteriorating. It mounts in the stock location and is complete from Y-pipe all the way to the 3.5-4" tip.

Ditto to above. Also, a motivated exhaust guy can clean out the front cats' packing stuff when he does your exhaust. It will pass with one Cat. (I put a single Random Tech 3" in and 3" out cat on mine.) I had a Gibson single side (mandrel bent) swept exhaust as well, but with the new engine, I cut off the Gibson muffler, and added a single chamber Flowmaster. Really deep and loud now. Exhaust pics in gallery.
