I got a 2 inch spacer for the front of my F-150 and I was wondering what size the stud that holds the botom of the spring is? Any tips for putting it in? Thanks
is it the kind that screws down onto the exisiting stud on the very bottom? the nut is a very good size, like a 13/16" i believe...but the stud i am not so sure about. back when i had my f150 i removed my coils all the time just to see how fast i could do it!
I dont know the size of the stud, but the nut is actually 1and 1/8 (all of mine are anyway)
o, sorry blueoval! it's been about 2 years since i have worked on a 1/2 ton so my mind is slippin on me. now that i think about it ya, I used a 1 1/8" socket to get mine off (i cheated and got an impact on it)
The nut is 1 1/8"
The hex on the stud
The thread that goes into the axle is 3/4"-10
Torque is around 300 ft/lbs
I used a cheap combo wrench with the open end sawed off and a 4ft cheater bar and a freind. It's something i never want to do again. What brand spacer? Mine were Tuff Country ones that were with the lift kit i have.
I got the block from maco manufacturing for 35 bones. THe stud extender didn't look all that complicated so I decided to try to fab it up myself since they wanted another 35 bucks for them.
