Placards?

I'd like to remove the exterior placards on my truck. The one that says F-250 and Diesel.

What I'd like to know is....are the placards affixed to the exterior with double sided tape or are they bolted through the fenders?

Thanks for the help

Chuck

i am not sure but i belive that they are just two sided tape, we pulled them of my friends 93 stang and they were just tape. if it was holes in the fenders and doors they would need different doors on the diesel vs. the gasser. and i defently think they are not bolted but sometimes they have a dowel that sticks through the fender for support but mostly tape.

I went to billetbadges.com and they have a procedure to remove the badges. Sounds like they are just glued on. Good luck.

Double-sided tape, yes, but on the F250 one it also has locating pins that go through holes in the fender. So that makes it a little harder to slice through the tape with dental floss, and leaves a couple of holes in your fender when you're done. The door diesel badges have no holes behind them.

I took the 'F350' off one side of my truck because the 2 sided tape wasn't holding it on very good and I didn't want to have it fall off and lose it. Once I cleaned up all the tape glue from the paint, I stepped back and found that the truck looks much better without the badge on it. I like the clean look. Too bad it has the 2 holes there though, it would look real nice with them filled in and repainted. I don't have badges on my tailgate either and the clean look is real nice on it too. No holes in that one.
