Has anyone used the 1705 tuner lately? I would like to install one, (or something similar) but have some questions. What are the mileage benefits, if any? Do I need to upsize the exaust? Are there any mods that need to be performed, guages etc.? What are, if any downsides? Lately I haven't had to pull much, but would like more power(of course), but I do pull large loads from time to time. Any thoughts are much appreciated.
Gauges, gauges, gauges, gauges, gauges, gauges, gauges, gauges, gauges, gauges, gauges, gauges, gauges, gauges, gauges, gauges, gauges, gauges, gauges, gauges, gauges, gauges...
Get my point.
You don't NEED to do anything to run a programmer. But as many would here would suggest is Gauges, exhaust, intake, and then get your programmer or chip.

Wow, Thanks, Any ballpark on what that would cost? I DO NOT want to wreck the motor. I am willing to do it right. What are the benefits of just doing the 4" exaust?
Thanks for your help Mike,
You can spend as much or as little as you want.
Gauges- (3 plus a pillar pod) I've seen them from as little as $280 on up.
Intakes- Click
here This is what I did. Cost me about $50.
Exhaust- All depends on what you want. Check out Motorhaven.com (this fine sites sponsor) The main advantage of going with a new exhaust is lowering EGT's plus it sounds good. The increase in HP, Torque, and MPG is actually minimal.
Do some research, read a lot, and just have fun with your truck.
