engine swap

2.0 engine blew up can't find one in my neck of the wood at a good price but 2.3's are a dime a doz. my question is are the blocks the same and can I just put my 2.0 head and intake etc.
on and will it work

yes the 2.3's share the same block as the 2.3, and if you find a carbed 2.3(83 and 84 in rangers), it would be a direct swap, and if you can't find a carbed one, I think that your head will fit. the only thing you have to look for is that the 2.3 needs to be from a pre 89 ranger(or mustang, but you can't use the intake or head from those), the 89 and later 2.3's don't have distributors so it would be hard to make work in your truck.
