adding a tachometer

I have a 2000 Ranger with the 4.0l engine. It did not come with the factory tach and I would like to add an Autometer tach that I had in my old Mustang.

The Haynes manual shows a Tachometer Service connector that I can't find. Where is the easiest connection point to trigger the tach? The rest of the connections are easy.

Thanks

you can splice into the PCM, which should be
mounted on the passenger side firewall/fenderwell. You will need to splice
into pin number 48, which will be a brown or tan wire with a yellow stripe, to
obtain your engine RPM signal.
