It's good to see that Ford Trucks have the same online following that other makes/models do! I just bought my brother-in-law's '98 Ranger 4x2 (3.0L, stepside, 199k miles) as my "reliable transportation" since my other car is usually broken (fast, reliable, cheap ... pick two. I didn't pick reliable.).
Anyway, when I bought the truck it had a CEL that my brother-in-law wasn't going to have time to diagnose before heading back to Iraq for another tour. So, he sold it to me cheap and, thanks to this site, I replaced the DPFE and both front O2 sensors, and it's running like a champ (other than the pinging, which, again thanks to this forum, I'm tackling today).
