Front Axle
I have a 2003 F-550 4x4. I know the rear is a K8 code, 4:88, the trans is a 4r100(right?) but how do I find what the front is? I am assuming it is the same as the rear, but?? I want to replace the stock lockout hubs with Warn, and need to be sure what I have so I can order them. Thanks in advance.

Being as it is a F-550 it is an unusual one and no doubt expensive to buy parts for- you will be doing yourself a favor to just just yank the whole axle out and then let me know when its ready for me to come and pick it up- Thats right, I'm gonna be a nice guy and take that headache off your hands free of charge - no need to thank me!!! All kidding aside, minimum it would be a Dana 60 but a good chance of a Dana 70. Look for numbers in the webbing around the front cover, most likely bottom webbing. Usually there will be a 60 or 70 cast on one of them.

F450 and F550 have Dana 60 front axles like the F250/350 trucks but they are rated higher for weight capacity than the 250/350 trucks, probably due to the springs.
F450 has a Dana 80 rear and F550 has a Dana S-135 rear.
F450 has a Dana 80 rear and F550 has a Dana S-135 rear.
