Hi All and greetings from Ontari-ari-ario. I am new to diesels but not to Ford trucks. I am looking at a 93 F-250 with 220 Km and a 7.3 l. The interior is rough but the body seems fine and the motor seems strong. Naturally I have a few questions (mostly about interchangability with parts from a 90 F-150). What interior parts can I swap easily and what won't fit no matter what? Will the front bumper from the 90 fit the 93? How about the dash? If the coolant was changed every two years, is that okay as far as the block cavitation issue goes? What are these coolant test strips I have read about and can I get them through the dealer? The flywheel cover plate under the truck is missing (hasn't been on in a while I think). Is this a big deal? So many questions. Please feel free to offer up any advice you may see fit and drive safely
Welcome .............. First changing only the coolant does didly for cavitation. The requirement to add 2 bottles of Supplimental coolant additives DCA4 IH or VC8 ford is the only way. Check your levels with test strips from IH just get about 2-4 per year. You can normally buy the 4 foil packs separate at IH. Re getting strips through the Ford dealer most don't have a clue re Cavitation and the required protection.

I have some updated info the WIX - Dana 4105 test strips are sold under the NAPA name might try there too. I like these strips they are easy to use, the PH test can be a concern if you used tap water which we are not supposed to do...... use demineralized or deionized water only.
