I had the check engine light come on. I had the kid at Autozone scan my computer...The error code said "bank 1 lean" then "bank 2 lean". The other kid inside said that was the code for the O2 sensor...He didn't look it up, but the kid who scanned it said he had memorized almost every code...
Anyway, on on '02 v10, would that error indicate a bad O2 sensor? I had the kid clear the code and after 11 miles, the light has stayed off...
2 O2 sensors going bad at the same time? And on a 2002 no less? I would bet it's not the case. "Bank 1 and 2 lean" means there is either too much air in the fuel mixture ratio or too little fuel. (Should be around 14.7:1) You'd probably notice some hesitation if it was fuel related. It's more likely that there is an air leak upstream of the MAF sensor. Maybe a vacuum leak, throttle body or intake manifold gasket or even more likely a leak in the rubber boot or connections of your FIPK. The FIPK on my 99 5.4L leaked... I think it takes at least three full driving "cycles" for the light to come back on.
