Ranger Armrest

I have a 95 ranger with a sagging armrest. I'm unsure of how to fix it and could use some hints. I can't seem to figure it out.

On my '91 I just unzipped the cover and made a whole through the padding, there is a "star" headed fastener(i can't remember the right name) you'll need an extension and bend your body in unnatural ways but sure beats a sloppy armrest.

Sagging? What kind of armrest do you have- is it a fold-up one with a storage compartment inside? What do you mean by sagging?

My armrest is the fold up kind that comes on the 60/40 split bench seat. It does have the compartment inside. As far as the sagging goes, it seems like the swivel piece that actuall holds it onto the seat is bent or broken, I figured I could save some money by fixing it myself and wanted to see if I could find some pointers on it.

I was thinking that that might be the problem. On the inside of the compartment(on the drivers side) there is a plug. Take that out and deep inside you will find a torx bolt. Now, if you dont have a torx to fit it, you can usually gat a short-handled, flat blade screwdriver in there. Take the bolt out and wrap the end in a layer of teflon tape (pipe thread tape). You can also use locktite. Put the bolt back in (sometimes it is dificult), and that should fix the problem and keep it from happening again. Hope it helps!
