Well the 390 is almost together for the F-250 and I am debating which intake manifold to run.
The 390 has Forged flat top pistons, 901 Crane cam and headers with dual 2 1/2 inch exhaust. I will be running a Holley 600 carb
The truck has a C-6 and 373 gears and is 2 wheel drive.
This truck will be used as a daily driver and tow rig pulling a trailer with my jeep on it at times.
I have 2 intakes one is a Edelbrock performer and the other is a factory aluminum.
Both have the runners routed the same and they are both dual plane manifolds.
The Edelbrock manifold has much smaller runners than the Ford one so it would run better in the lower end of the power band.
I want to use the factory manifold but want to make sure that it won't steal power from the 901 cam since the cam is set up to pull better in the lower end.
Just doing some last minute questions.
Thanks for the help.
Ken
I agree. The 901 cam isn't going to take advantage of the factory manifolds larger runners anyway, so why reduce low end with no gain on high end? Go the Edelbrock route.
