I have the step rear bumper on my truck and would like to put a styleside rear bumper on. Looking at catalogs it looks like they may take different brackets, is this true? Can anyone give some help.
Yes, this is true. They do take different bracket's. The styleside rear bumper bracket's are a bit hard to find and big $$$ if you do find them. My friend put one on his 79 short box, he bought the bumper and bracket's off of e-bay in seperate auctions. He had to pay nearly $100 for the bumper with shipping and $90 for the bracket's. The bracket's for a 78-79 Bronco rear bumper will not fit correctly either, the sport bumper bracket's for the truck are only for the truck and are the only ones that will work correctly. There was also a thin body strip that fit between the bumper and the box that is nearly impossible to find, which will leave a gap between the bumper and box. I'll try to post some pics in my gallery of how his looks later today or tonight. -Ed
I have a roll pan on mine, take a look at it my gallery. I don't use my truck to tow or work in so I think the roll pan looks good and not as expensive as the sport bumper. -Ed
rulon69, I have posted a couple of pics in my gallery of my friends 79 with the rear sport bumper on it, sorry for the pics (so far away from thr bumper) I thought I had some of it a bit closer than that. I will attempt to get some close up's of it for you, but he has it put away for winter. I may have to wait until spring! -Ed
