Question preditor custom tune program???

Hi I was wondering about how much difference I would gain from my 98 ranger xlt 4X4 with 3.0 with the custom tune verses right out of the box preditor perfomance tune! I have added all of these mods and I would love to more how much I would benifit by ordering a custom tune for all my performance upgrades! Here is my list (BBK headers ,MAC cold air intake, K&N filter, throtle body spacer, underdrive pulleys, electric fan, true dual exhaust with high flow cats and 2.25 straight pipe with no mufflers, performance MAF sensor) can they tune it to take advatage of all my mods or just a few??? What gains over the out of box preditor can I expect with a custom tune ???

From what I've read, the mods you listed still fall under the "stock or mildly modified vehicles". The Predator Tune right out of the box should do you great. On top of that, you can tweak it for more power if you know what you're doing. If you're still not satisfied with it or you outgrow it, you can get a custom tune from a professional tuner at a later point. In the Mustang world, it's people who install superchargers, turbo or nitrous are the ones who really benefit from custom tunes.

Unfortunately, there are no Predators for Rangers and its unlikely there will be. The Ranger chip market is too small. You can get a DiabloSport or SCT chip for it from www.motorhaven.com. You can't use a non-custom tune with your setup. The headers and MAF require custom tuning.

Question.... how do you have a K&N filter and a MAC cold air intake? The MAC intake uses its own filter. The throttle body spacer doesn't do anything (placebo on fuel injected vehicles), therefore it doesn't require custom programming. Intakes and exhausts don't change the programming as the MAF and O2 sensors allows the computer to adjust, but the changed MAF and headers (if they cause a check engine light) do. Pulleys and fan --- nothing to program for there.

I did get the MAC air filter with the cold air intake but I already had a cone style K&N air filter before I ordered the MAC kit so I put the K&N in place of the MAC supplied air filter. I would like to get the diablosport custom tune does it come ready to plug-n-play or do I have to adjust it for my application or not! I am capable of tunning it myself but I have never really worked on any fuel injected vehicles with all these sensors! I am and old school carb and basic do it yourselfer with little experiance with the newer vehicles so I might need some guidance!!
