Trouble starting.
Last spring I parted out a truck and kept the 400 which was starting and running very good.
This summer I put it in another truck. ('78 F250 Crewcab 4x4).
Now when I try to start it it takes a long time to get started.
I end up using starting fluid and it wil run for a few seconds at a time at first the gradually run longer and longer (if I keep pumping the gas pedel). It backfires easily during teh first stages of this process...
Eventually it runs fine.
I know the gas is several years old and I added some fresh gas. I would drain the tanks, but it is rather cold out and I have no garage. I am going to clean the carb too.
Any other ideas on getting this thing to start normal?
