I'm posting this here cause I think it's where I first saw it and after sometime in the trans forum I got no response. Someone here mentioned a rebuild manual for a C6 that was "worth it's weight in gold". I'm getting ready to assemble my parts list etc and need the manual. Thanks
I've heard the Haynes brand of manuals has a good, user friendly, auto tranny manual for Ford slush boxes. The one I have is the ATSG manual and you can purchase it online. Do a google search for ATSG for sources.
It helps to see the stuff actually put together. There is a video available on VHS or DVD from badshoe productions. The video also comes with rebuild info and drawings for tooling you will need.
I have the video and CD. It is very well done. The only fault I can find is that it does not stress cleanliness enough. Even the smallest particle can cause problems.
If you rebuild a transmission I would also recommend installing a filter in the cooler loop. You can use a remote mount spin on filter or the filter listed below.
Wix transmission/PS filter #58964
200 psi working, pressure relieved, magnetic
change yearly or 12000 miles
Ford equivalent filter kit #XC3Z-7B155-AA
filter alone #XC3P-7B155-BA
