Fords ex-motto couldn't be more right. For example,I left BOTH windows down in a '89 and it was pouring outside. None to say my *** got wet,but everything on the dash worked, was like windows were up the whole time. And I'm rough on my old 6,but damn man. Did you forget a little oil and water? Well, rebuild it for the most part and make it a I4,make it real quiet, then sell it to someone and tell them its firing on all 6. Yes,thats messed up,but hey,at least they'll have a ford engine compared to some jap engine. lol
sry to say this but jap engines are quite a bit quicker and more reliable in hondas case than any other engine ive ever known of... pretty bad *** if u ask me. just vowing for the ricers out there. (but tellya the truth i have a 77 4x4 ford with 88 300 efi and wouldnt be caught dead in owning a jap car but, honda engines diserve there praise;and whole drivetrain all in all are the ****t)
I have seen a motor ot here the same thing. The rod snapped punching out the cyl. and breaking the camshaft. Yes it still ran. It is not worth rebuilding. Need to find a donor and rebuild. This was at a local trucking company. The truck was thier run around get parts and supplies truck. I'm trying to get them to sell me the head to rebuild for mine which has number 1 cyl valve gone.
The head on this motor was rebuilt not long before we got it. It still looks good so if I ever need one I will take this one and see if there are any cracks in it.
