Does anyone know where I can buy the test strips for my 97 diesel, I called napa and they said I had to buy some kit for 25 bucks. The kit has some rediculous number of strips that I will never need. I haven't been able to get hold of ford dealer yet, to see if they sell 1 or 2 of them. At this point I think it would be easier to just buy some additive and dump it in the overflow. Please advise, Thanks JEFF
I don't know if there is one near you, but Speedco truck lube centers have them. Actually, any truck service center should have them. Whether or not they sell them one at a time is another story, however.
I got mine at an International dealer. They're Fleetguard CC2602B. About $1.75 per. They're a one shot deal, use 'em and toss 'em. Like Pikachu says, any diesel truck maintenance center should have 'em.

Reason: typo
I bought a pack of 6 indiv. wrapped, with the laminated color card in a zip-loc bag for 2.25, they had a bottle of 50 there for 6.99. Don't pay a buck a piece for them, they are out there priced like they should be.
Where did you find those strips that cheap? I see DIS is about $8 for 4, which is even a little more than I paid.
We should mention too for those that don't know, there is a shelf life on the strips, so it doesn't do any good to buy 25 if you're gonna throw 23 of them away. Only buy what you're gonna need fairly soon. The ones I found on the shelves had expiration dates of about 6-8 months away. They do rotate them on a regular basis, I'm advised.
Of course, if you can get 50 for $7, who cares?

Interstate turbo, commerce city CO. I paid a buck a piece at the local repair shop, but they didn't give me a card, so I was up there getting some other parts and saw them, and the small package I got was by a price tag that said 6.99 so I though crap, I'll just get this small package with the card and be happy, but I checked out and it was less than 3 bucks, and it was the bottle of 50 for 6.99. They were new, just out of freshly delivered box. interstateturbo.com is the web-addy, but they don't show anything online. You can have them ship easily too, they drop ship tons of stuff to me all the time.
guys, do not use the strips that NAPA sells. The ones they sell do not test for the Nitrate/molybate combo that the ford additive consists of, and you will not get an accurate reading. Only use the fleetguard test strips. ( I got mine from diesel innovations, if I remember right)
Also, the strips have a somewhat limited shelf life, so only buy what you need. Stay away from the big quantites unless you have a fleet of trucks.
do not add the additive indescrimanently. if i am not mistaken, to much additive will do harm to the water pump. always follow directions on test strip.
