1991 Ford Aerostar "Check Engine" problem
The Check engine light originally came on occassionally. After a month or so it came on all the time, after the engine was warm. The engine eventually began missing and running very rough. I stopped driving the van. I bought a code reader and tested. KOKO = 22 MAP, followed by 10. KOER = 4 (even tho this is a 6 cylinder engine).; 10; 21 Engine Coolent Temp sensor out of spec; 77 and then 74.
The ECT sensor was replaced - no help
ECT sensor was shorted - OK reading. open - OK reading
The Thermostat was removed and tested OK
The temperature gauge stays at minimum level, even tho the inside heater does work and provide heat.
The Check Engine light comes on after the engine is running - cold or hot engine.
The negative battery terminal was loosened and the computer reset - no help
Can you help me find the cause? Please!
