hey i am wondering what kind of improvements some of you guys have made to your front ends my truck is a f250 psd and i know its much heavier than a gasser so i jsut wanna know what should be done
what year is it? 99-05 fronts are same for 3/4 and 1 tons. if you use a good plow frame you dont have to do anything. I run a western ultra mount. it does not take away ANY ground clearance when the plow is not attached.
I thought that s/d's after 2002 had a 60 in front and a 80 rear? Read that somewhere. BTW what goodies do you get with a early f350 that you don't get with a f250? Springs a little stronger? I thought the plus to getting a 1 ton was the running gear?
I recently had a 7.5RD Fischer Plow installed on my '96 2 door Tahoe. The front suspension was beefed up with special urethane bump stops called a Timbren system. I believe that they make an air bag kit as well that might be what you are looking for? A F-250 is a pretty stout vehicle as it is, and probably would be fine as is.
I put a 8.5' V-Plow made by Hinniker on my 00' PSD F350, and the salesman said that a 1-Ton is the biggest truck they like to put them on cuz you start tearing the plow apart and This plow is BUILT!! I wouldn't worry about your truck just take it easy on the plow and don't hit any curbs--It gives a heck-of-a ride when you do it, I'd worry more about setting off your air-bag, and no I'm not talking about my wife, Have fun with your plow and if you can afford it get the V model it saves alot of cleanup
hey thanks guys for the quick response i jsut wanna do it right fromt eh get go instead of half a$$ yea frosty i chevy 2500 there trash not meant to be plow trucks or even work trucks
