Exhaust Question

Hey guys... I just joined the site today and i got a question bout dual exhaust. I have a 2002 F-250 Superduty Ex. Cab... I would like to get dual flows on it. My friend said 3" pipes would really make it roar. How much do u think that could cost? i'm going to have someone else install them as well. I'm lookin for true dual exhaust. thanx

Gas or diesel engine? True dual flows(flowmaster?) exhaust is gonna be pricey. At LEAST $400.

3" pipes all the way back? What size engine you running? Only thing I have seen 3" all the way back was on my dad's mustang that topped out at over 150 without any nitrous. Might be a little big and push your torque curve up.

yeah 3" will make it too hard to get a good exhaust gas velocity and promote scavenging. 2.5" with an H or X pipe will be best.

Flowmaster "strongly recommends H pipe for all applications" Idealy, I would start at the headers and match the pipe size to them, and go straight back no cats into a Flowmaster 30's 2 in 2 out

but thas jus me

An H or X pipe will help not only with sound, but evening out pulses to help the exhaust be as efficient as possible.
