hub/rotor compatability
hub/rotor compatability
Hello, new member here, this is a great forum for us ford truck owners by the way. I have a 1995 f-150 4x4 w/manual hubs. The rotors are shot (rusted out pits the size of the pad of my thumb) and are in serious need of replacement. I have found a place that sells "Dana 44 HUB/ROTOR ASSEMBLIES for all Ford F150 1/2 ton 4WD trucks, and all 4WD Ford Broncos, 1976, 77,78,79,80,81,82,83,84,85 & 86."
Now my question is will these work on the TTB style front end in my truck or are there inherent differences in the rotor/hub assemblies of the solid axle versus TTB setup?
I assume that the above assembly is for the solid axle setup based on the years of application.
They are selling the pair for $110, is this reasonable.....not sure of the manufacturer as it does not mention it. I am not looking for anything high performance or the like, just something that is better than what I have. Seems it would be easier to replace the whole assembly than just the rotors from what I have heard here and other places as well.
Thanks for any help.

The years of application sound funny to me. Ford went to the TTB on all F-150's and Broncos in 1980. I don't know what would have changed in 1987 to make the hub incompatible with anything older.
I would be wary of that. You would be better off going with a name brand rotor and installing them yourself. All you need is a punch and a hammer to remove and install the rotors from the hub. If you want to splurge, get a new set of wheel studs.

Ford did change to the ttb in 1980. If, you can't find any answers on here, why not go to your local Ford parts house and ask them what will fit. I have done that a couple times and the counter guys don't seem to mind as long as it's not to busy. I can't think of any reason an '86 or older rotor/hub wouldn't fit on a '95 except that they started offering the automatic hub around 85-86 so they might have changed something for that. Also they changed the calipers around 91 or 92. i think all they changed was the way the pads are held on (no more clips to pound in). I would definitly check it out before I spent the money though.
