How often do I change the fuel filter?
I have put about 3500 miles on my 86 sense I've had it about 1.5 years and I've changed the fuel filter once.The only filter I know of is the one on the driver side frame rail that spins off with an oil filter wrench. is thier a 2nd filter.I use a wix.

I chang my fuel filters every other oil change (approx 6-10k miles) but thats just me. I think Fords recomendation for my '95 is 15-30k miles depending on conditions. Unless an inline filter has been added to yours the one on the frame rail should be the only one. Hope that helps. Carl

I tend to change mine twice a year in the fall and in the spring .
If your truck dosent get a lot of miles put on it then you should do it more often.
At least you change yours I know other people who never change their fuel filter .

One of the best and cheapest preventive maintenance items you can do for your engine is change the fuel filter every time you change you oil. Hopefully that is every 3000 miles!
