Hi guys and girls
after changing egr and plugs & cables took neg cable off for 30 min to reset computer. start up is high idle, bad gas milege drive 50 miles to work shut down. startup 10 min later and truck shakes idle is low seems like it wants to die. went to autozone checked the codes said (1401)2nd dairy emission control system problem. So where do i go from here? What does a 1401 mean they say i should take it to a dealer. any thoughts will be appreciated.
Thanks Steve

I had a 1400 after replacing the egr valve and cleaning the pipe assy coming out of the exhaust. Auto Zone told me they had no info on 4 digit codes and that I would have to take it to a dealer. So I promptly came this forum instead and searched for a 1400 code, found the complete list of codes on the "sticky" thread, went to NAPA and bought a DPFE sensor. NAPA calls this sensor a EGR position sensor. I went ahead and got new pieces of hose for it too. I put it on this A.M. and have driven it twice with no check engine light.(before, the check engine light would come on at the beginning of the second drive). I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it's fixed. If I were you, I would get a DPFE sensor and hope for the best. Keep us posted, I'm interested in how you resolve your problem. Good Luck...
