31,000 miles, milage went up since the newest flash.(done on 11-20-04)16.9 hand cal. about 150 miles interstate & the rest local driving. I can't say if my towing milage has increased, it was about 12mpg, 16,200 gvw.
For my 05 F350 4x4 CC short 3.73 I get 14.5-15 mixed driving using the dash. Hand calculating gives me just slight less. My last tank was 437 miles and I put 30G in. So thats 14.5 and thats also w/ an AFE. The banks 4" goes on friday.
It's gonna depend a lot on the way your vehicle is confiqured, (i.e. rearend ratio, manual vs. auto, 4X vs. 2X). I have an '03 F-350 Dually with 4:10 rearend, FX4, crew cab, automatic, and I get 10-11mpg with a load, and 15mpg empty. However I also carry an auxilary diesel tank that holds 115 gallons, plus all my tools for my business. My rig has 161,000 miles on it as well.
I would like to know if your trucks that you are quoting miles on are 4X4, short bed, Long bed, crew cab etc. Is your truck stock or do you have bigger tires, if so what size. If not the numbers are all over the place. My truck is a 4X4 long bed, crew cab with 37" tires and I am getting 13-14 in town and 16 on highway
4dr short bed 4x4 auto. About 15 highway and 13 in town. Running the Edge and turbo back exhaust. I don't check it often but that is what it was. Not great but good for how much power you got.
Mine is an early 03 with extended cab, short bed 4x4, 5 speed auto, 3.73 limited slip diff, stock tires, cap on the bed. Stock I get 16+ city with latest flash.

in the signature, only thing missing is 3.73 gearing.
My 04/04 was getting about 12-13 city and 15 highway for the first 5,000 miles . I am getting about 1-2 miles better now at 8,000 miles . I haven't had the new flash yet . Should I get it ?
My truck is a 04 F-350 CC SB 4x4 auto with 3.73's. bone stock. 12 mpg towing 6 horse gooseneck, 15mpg around town, and a best of 19.5 on the highway with cruise set at 78 mph. All mpg's based on what I, and many others, call the lie-o-meter, I checked mpg at last fill-up by hand and it ended up .7 tenths higher than the lie-o-meter so my guess is to add .7 to the above figures. BTW-truck has 12,500 miles on it and the ford guy who worked on it last(gas engine type miss at light acceleration was my complaint) test drove it and thought I had a chip but discovered none, said I had the best running 6.0 he had seen, must have gotten one of the good ones
2004 F250 PSD, 13,400 miles, average 14.5 - 16.5 around town. Highway is 21 - 22 mpg @ 65-70mph. I had hoped for more around town.

There seems to be a group of people that get about 16 mpg on the highway (like me) and some that get up to 20. I would sure like to know what it is about those trucks that get the high milage so I could fix mine. I wonder if Ford has looked at this. Engineers should be able to figure this out!
