Engine miss firing under load
I have a 91 Ranger 2 X 4, I replaced the plugs and it idles fine, cruises fine, but when I accelerate or tow something engine misses and pops out the exhaust. I have checked my motors manual in the trouble shooting guide, there was nothing in reference to what could help me. Also I have an 88 Escort that does almost the same thing.

Definitely a symptom if this model has clogged fuel injectors (possibly a jet problem with a carb or whatever closed loop feedback might be used) also check O2 sensor. After that, timing (especially if this occurs more when cold) and compression. Any signs of oil fouling? This will short ckt a plug under load too.
