I need help identifing which year F-150 for an accelerator cable I use on something other than a Ford truck. I have photos, but can't seem to attach them in this forum. A description of the cable is as follows...
Black, 2 foot 9 inches from the firewall to the round bracket support on the carberator. The carb end is a snap on a ball fitting, with a white plastic piece, and a 4 inch spring. The fitting that supports the carb end is round, about the size of a quarter and snaps into a bracket. The middle of the cable has a black foam covering about 8 inches in lenght. The firewall end is black plastic, about 2 inches wide with two holes for mounting. Inside the cab is a piece that I believe comes streight though for a few inches then angles, not sure because I had to cut/trim this piece for my application. I believe a '90 F-150 would work but does not have the middle foam section which I use to help support the cable in the engine compartment.
Thanks for any help you can provide.
I would guess your attachment may be to large?? There's a way to post attachments here I'm sure, unless the rules have changed since i posted a pic. Maybe someone else can help. If no one replys try posing "Can I add attachments". Sorry I cant help more. I used copy and paste of a fuel pump, see post number 23 at https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/s...ht=fuel+pumps+
When i get back home I'll try the gallery method. Thx Mike. Hopefully I can get someone from each year '87 - '96 to take a quick look and help me get the right cable. Thx all.
Funny after replacing my engine computer last month $100.00, i wish i had a carb. truck LOL You wanta switch trucks It's real nice to have trouble codes to trace down problems. Maybe you can swing by a local salvage yard to see the different cables. good luck
Tried that... spend 4 hours looking at every Ford truck and the same story with each of them - When they pull the engine they just cut all the connecting cables and hoses. None of them had the part with the foam padding piece still attached. Times like this I wish I had better notes (part number or year) of all the modifications I've had done to my truck.

I looked at my '89 F150 302 w/5sp and my cable does not look anything like yours.
