TFI reimbursement
I just got a notification in the mail about a class action settlement on a case brought against Ford in regards to their TFI module failures. If you had to pay to replace a defective distributor mounted Thick Film Integrated ignition module on your Ford/Lincoln/Mercury car made from 1983-1995, you can file a claim to try to get your costs reimbursed. The models of Aerostars that are covered only go up to 1990, but other cars go up to 1995.
There were many such actions filed throughout the country, but the case applying to me is Howard et al w Ford Motor Company, class action number 763785-2, filed in the California Superior court. This settlement applies to ALL owners of Ford vehicles made in that time frame in the US. There are many stipulations regarding claim qualification, so please check with your local Ford dealer or the following web site:

The two key qualifying requirements are:
A. You owned one or more of the cars in questions
B. You had to pay for the repair or replacement of a Ford made distributor mounted TFI module on the car when it had 100,000 miles or less of usage.
I myself am unable to make any claims, as the 4.0 v6 engine in my Aerostar has EDIS.
good luck to those who think they have a case.
