rear window defrost

Hi all, with the arrival of the cold weather here I noted that my rear window defrost (97 Mountaineer) does not seem to work. The "active" LED in the control switch comes on but I am do not think I am getting voltage to the rear grid. In looking at the wiring diagram it appears that if the relay is functional then the indication will come on in the switch as it seems to be fed by the same output as the one that goes to the grid (in parallel)?

Have any of you had a similar problem? I am hoping to not have to trace back the power wire all the way to the front of the vehicle.

thanks,
-John B

Well, never mind. I did not see a way to delete the post above so I thought I would put my reply here.

Turns out some less than competent person (me) disconnected the harness inside the rear lift gate when they were working on a problematic latch a few months ago and forgot to hook it back up when they were done. OOPS.
