If I am going out with the intention of muddin, I put peel-offs on when I get to the pit. You know, the things the Nascar Boys use. If it is spur of the moment I just grab a handful of rags out of the bed box and start wiping.
P.S. Don't use your shirt to clean the windshield. Especially if the wife got it for you for a gift. Damn the couch is uncomfortable.

i race gokarts on a dirt track, forget the nascar boys makin good use of the peel offs, when you don't have anything between you and the open air we really need those things. i've done quite a few things to keep mud off that might be applicable. i've used wd-40 with the most success though. just rub it on before you go out so that its thin enough to cover, but not too thick that you get distorted vision. another thing i've seen done is to spray something with liquid teflon (something like the new bathroom cleaner stuff) and it won't stick much. none of this stuff does any good in getting the mud off, just keeps it from sticking as much.

I have it easy apperantly, I don't have wipers at all, and don't stick my head out the window, just leave it down about 2inches keep my foot mashed on the throttle until I see the finish line pass by.

nope you aren't wrong that is why I said I had it easy I used to do trail runnin, and such when I lived out west, but here in the midwest all the trail running is on private property, and isn't worth building a rig for that to me, for some this is great but I got to used to being able to run fire roads, and highline roads, logging roads etc and making a few of my own so playing on someone elses back 40 doesn't hold alot of attraction to me.

man i hear that, ive gotten a few trespassing fines, they arent much but they're enough to keep me off private land nowadays, ive found a few spots here in oklahoma along the rivers that are pretty fun to mud in,and the locals dont mind, heck most of them have rigs too, there is one spot along our part of the canadian river that has old private property signs but no one knows who owns it, there are guys that have wheeled there for 15+ years and light a bonfire every weekend, there isnt many challenging areas but it has a few....i love going there and watching them get their blazers stuck, then i pull em out and drive through the hole they were stuck in, really burns them chebby guys up....

This sounds like the Innis Straight method found in Chapter 13 of the Dukes of Hazard Driving Manual to me.

luckily i live on a couple hundred acres as well as quite a few of my friends have play holes so we rarely run out of places to run! only problem is there isn't enough land to have a club meet or something to that effect or i would start my own 4x4 club!

Where Monterbaby races, he isnt exaggerating a bit- The pits are pretty much just two sets of ruts filled with runny pudding type mud, the few times I went to race there, the flying mud spray was so bad that all you really could see was the announcers shack going by. At least the ruts pretty much hold you in so there isnt any steering input needed.
