Hey all, I am new to this site and have a few questions concerning my 02 F250 longbed crew.
I have just installed a 4" lift with 315/75/r16 Mickey Thompsons.
I have noticed a significant decrease in mileage, shifting, and over all performance.
The ride is great compared to the steeltex tire.
Should I get a programmer or chip to correct my other problems?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
with the added tire dia. you have directly changed the effective rear-end drive ratio. if you are using the info guage to track you mpg, it will be off due to the larger circumfrance of your new tires. it is basing it's calculations off the stock tire size. a tuner will up the performance but unless you change axle ratios your towing will suffer.
I do believe you should have posted this in the 7.3L section, a mod should move it. search around there are many threads on this subject.
