Evolution

My father recently put in an Evolution chip in his '99 F250 SD 4x4. He then drove halfway across the country. He reported the same light coming on frequently.

After driving for almost a week, it went away. He also noticed in the Evolution manual that there was small print saying that "after installation, you should disconnect your battery cables and let the vehicle sit for at least an hour before re-conneting the battery cables."

Supposedly, this "clears the memory" from the electronic devices and let's it start fresh. And the very worst that can happen from removing the battery cables and sitting would be that you have to reset your radio stations and clock time.

Just my 2 cents, hope it helps.
