trans. problem
I have a 98EB with 4.0 sohc,4x4,and auto. Everything works perfect until the engine hits normal operating temp.If in overdrive at temp the trans hunts for a gear or just drops out of od.When this happens the 4x4 seems to come on as soon as the truck moves from a dead stop,this does not happen when the engine is cold.There are no check engine or flashing lights.A friend put a logger on it and got a code saying something about the front and rear reading different speeds.I guess that would explain the 4x4 coming on.All the shifts are firm and positive except od when warm,I can drive all day with the od off.Do I need a trans rebuild or is this something that can be fixed?
