Funny this post came up, on the way to work this morning I rolled the 100K mark. Bought the 2000 PSD X 4WD last April with 91K. Told my insurance agent that it was a second vehicle, no way I would put more than 7500 on in a year. Can't help myself though, it's just so d*** fun to drive! BTW, no problems so far, knock on wood.
2000 X limited 4x4 gasser with 84000 miles, bought it with 76,000 this August!!!! Just like Jay's potato chips (can't eat just one), can't drive just some, have to drive it always!!! At this clip, I'll have 120,000 miles by this time next year. I need another job just to pay for the gas but, WHO CARES????
BBB, you better hope you never need your processor checked for codes. Or you pop the motor. It is possible to read actual miles on this computer, turning off the speedo only does just that.
As Red Green says "whe're in this together, I'm pullin' for ya"
hmmm....been in for warranty work a few times now, no problems. They scan the computer and all that crap. I have never seen that on a car before, so I am not affraid of it. It's worked fine so far I still got a couple months left. I have never even heard of the miles being stored in the processor, do you have proof of this? I don't think so because it's not true. Nice try though
I have seen the Ford reps come into the dealership I worked at, take the processor from a truck we had a major claim on. They would call back and tell us how many miles were on the computer void the warranty and void any other vehicle registered in that customers name. I have only seen this a couple of times, but it has happened. The dealership does not have the capability to do this, and if you are only making small claims they will never know.
