Stiffer shocks

I have a 2000 Ranger 2wd, and I'm looking for shocks that are slightly stiffer than the originals. I've used Bilsteins before, but thought maybe someone out there has tried Monroe or Edelbrocks or some other brand. Any suggestions? I'm not looking for bone-jarring stiffness, just a bit more aggressive handling and stability.

Well if all you want is a little stiffer ride, have you tried adjusting the torsion bars? It will raise the front end slightly (between 3/4" and 2") but it will definitely stiffen the ride. I did this to my 2001 and it rides a lot stiffer than it did. Let me know what you come up with and if this is an option that you want to consider or find out more about.

rancho rs9000 lifetime warrenty 5 speed ajustable shock i use them for my prerunner ranger.

The only 2wd's for 2000 that had torsion bars was the Trailhead Ranger. All other 2000 2wd had the SLA suspension.
