Lucas Upper cylinder lubricant problems?
Instead of doing what it says it does, it seems to me that Lucas UCL treatment is doing the opossite than what it is supposed to do. my 99 explorer seems to idle at about 1500, i have a check engine light, which indicates that the iac valve is malfunctioning, i bought a new valve but it still has the same problem, i thought that it might also be a vacuum leak, but i could nor find any, i also use lucas on my 94 camry, now the car seems to have dirty fuel injectors, it idles to low at about 400 to 500 rpm, has anybody had problems with this product.

I tried it once. It didn't seem to do any harm, but it didn't seem to do any good. I like Seafoam for engine/injector/carbeurator cleaning. But, if it gets too bad before anything is used, it doesn't really matter what you use, it won't work.

My thoughts on the Lucas is it's not so much an initial cleaner as it is a maintanance dose after using a good dedicated cleaner .
I think it would be good for an engine running relatively hi-rpm down the hi-way during summer heat or a tow vehicle giving some lube to the fuel .
It burns fairly clean I do know that .
