I have a problem with my ac. Basically when the ac is on, the air switches to the defrost, .( it stops blowwing from the dash vents and starts blowwing where the defrost vent is nest to the windshield.)Then it will go back to the dash vents.
Another problem i have is > when the the blower/ac is off and the truck is running and i'm driving i'm getting air flow at the bottom vents under the ash tray. There should be no air comming in if the air conditions switch is off >> correct ?
ANY SUGGESTIONS.
THANKS . J.S
OH ALSO my door ajar light is real artatic, it will not go off sometimes. I read a post on here about using wd40 >> i'm going to try this ..
Might be two things. A vacuum leak in the system since defrost is the setting that requires no vacuum to any of the doors or a defective selector switch. You should have five hose to the selector switch, black=source, white=recirc door, yellow=floor/panel door, blue=floor door and red=panel/defrost door. The black should have a vacuum all the time with the engine running. With the black conected check for vacuum at the hose when in these positions to test the selector switch. Max AC, white & red. AC, red. Vent, red. Floor/vent, blue & red. Floor, yellow & blue. Floor/defrost, blue. Defrost, no vacuum at any. Off, white, yellow, blue. Hope this helps, good luck.
