Hubs locking?

my 96 4x4 is making some sound when i take off after starting, that sounds like the front hubs are partially locked, even though I haven't been using the 4wd. It will stop if I kick it into 4 high for a second then go back to 2wd, then i back up to unlock the hubs and it is fine...
any ideas what might be causing this?

>What you might need todo is drive with your 4wd lock in for a while. it might be making sounds because you are not using it.

Hubs locking?

I have the same problem. I dont know if it's the hub or the clutch on the stub axles. Anyone know where to get new/rebuilt auto hubs?
