the 60's in my 78 snow fighter are 3:54's, definitly snag that truck, the axels are worth a pretty penny if they arent tore up.as far as the cab goes, it can be replaced.

you bet, Im going to get ahold of the guy here soon, and try to make it sound like i just want parts and pieces of it, and it should be cheep to be had anyone know if it had a devorced transfercase or the type my f150 has....i dont even really know how to tell if i had the truck here to look at. Thanks boys
Brian
ahhhh, thanks for that little tidbit, i was kinda thinking that might be how it happens, but now i know. im rather excited about it....other then the fact that i gotta buy different wheels again. But man...tough diffs, and if im lucky, a bit better gear ratio will make it ten times worth it
i don't remember seeing you say what year CC it was. this makes a bit of a difference on which d60 your going to be getting. the 78/79 high pinion d60 is the best, but the early ones are a low pinion and aren't as strong. either way, it's a rare truck and you should snag it up.
highboy1975....you ARE right, i never specified what year, as im not 100% sure. I know its the older grill style (73-77) but thats all i know as of now. I hope its not a low pinion...but i guess thats what'll it will turn out to be. Im going to drive up there again today, and tromp through the snow to have another look at it. I know its a 60 for sure, its a huge pumpkin, has 4 bolds holding the king pin grease plate on with a nipple on the top, and it has the biggest ugliest hubs from hell, and i coulda swore i saw drum brakes...

is the grill like the one on my truck(check gallery) or is the center inserts slightly different??? mine is a 76, most 75s and lower have more of a "flat" looking insert......
welp, all my excitement is all out the window now. I had to go back up there today to ease my mind, and it is a low pinion divorced tcase POS. So all my hopes of having a tough wheelin f150 for cheep is all out the window. basically the only diff that are worth hunting for, are the 78-79 then, correct? What about this later stuff, like mid 80's/90's...are they all low pinion too? Ah well, I thank you guys for all your input and knoledge, much appreciated
