t-19 overdrive?

Have not heard of any aftermarket gear sets for the T19 to make it overdrive. Best bet is to get a hold of a ZF 5-speed from a mid-80's-'97 F250/350. The ZF has a granny low first gear as well as an overdrive 5th. ZF's have hydraulic clutch and do not have a seperate bellhousing, so make sure you get one from the same engine type as yours.

These babies go between the bell and tranny. Best if you have 2wd.

There are zf's with sb bell pattern. Integral bell. Not sure about he clutch questions, but I think it uses an interal slave for the hydraulic clutch. You should be able to marry one up with Ford parts, as this tranny was installed in pu trucks, the vans, behind 6 and W v8s and behind oilburners. You just need one from behind a 6 or 302/351. Plus the other parts and hydraulic line. Check this site as there are a couple of zf installs chronicalled here with posting dates probably last summer.

hey socal, you said the zf has a hydraulic clutch. would i have to install a hyd. clutch in my 86 250 or can it be used without it? also is there any type of mods that need to be done in order to install the zf?

sbe12g, the ZF may need a shorter driveshaft and possibly the frame crossmember moved back. You need the hydraulic clutch setup with the ZF.
